Scope and Objectives
Kaizen is facilitating the creation of the Jordan Youth Network to connect youth and youth-serving organizations through an innovative community of practice in Jordan. The Jordan Youth Network will provide a space where youth can interact to share and address common challenges and opportunities, access resources, and mobilize to implement solutions. The Network will be a mix of in-person and virtual engagement, via an online portal, offering different groups and individuals a safe environment to interact across gender and geography. The Network portal will also house asset mapping data collected by youth. The Network will utilize Kaizen’s Professional Communities approach, which is based on communities of practice.
Kaizen is recruiting a Jordanian consultant to support the creation, launch and operation of the Jordan Youth Network.
Key Requirements
The Communities of Practice Coordinator will undertake the following tasks:
Lead outreach to potential participants Lead training for members, project teams and related organizations Develop partnerships with organizations that can support the Network Develop youth leadership to participate in the operation of the Network Plan and deliver online (webinars, Skype, etc.) and in-person events and opportunities for members to network and to collaborate Provide inputs for the creation of a web portal to support the Network Actively engage Network members to keep them active
Key Qualifications
Experience building communities of practice Ability to connect and interact with youth Advanced internet usage skills, including social media Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills Arabic and English fluency, both written and spoken, is required Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant work experience required; Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant work experience desirable Entrepreneurial self-starter, and works well with little supervision Efficient, detail-oriented, and well organized
This part-time engagement will begin immediately and continue for approximately 18 months. The anticipated level of effort is approximately 260 days.
