Job description
Al Bawaba News operates the largest syndication platform in the Middle East.
This full-time role involves selecting 18-20 stories a day from our Syndication Content Management System and publishing them on the News Website. After selecting an article to publish, the editor will then write an SEO-friendly headline and carefully select an image.This a competitive and challenging position which is perfect for Jordanian graduates looking to enter digital media in the Middle East.
Requirements of the Role
- A knowledge of current events, so as to select the best 18-20 headlines a day from list of hundreds of articles.
- Basic knowledge of headline writing and search engine optimisation. Here, training will be given.
- Ability to select and caption images from our image gallery providers.
- Reliability and consistency: you turn up for work and do a great job, every single day.
About The Role
- Hours are 9am-5pm, Sunday to Thursday.
- The successful applicant will receive training in how to operate the Syndication platform, and will receive editorial training from a team of Jordanian, UK and US editors.
- This is an entry-level role for a fresh graduate. A writing portfolio or experience in media, or work with a college paper, is preferable but not required.
