Vacancy Description British Council Jordan is looking to fill one vacant post in its operation team . Location : Amman-Jordan Salary : JOD 900, plus 2 months bonus, Terminal Gratuity, Medical Insurance and Social Security. Work Pattern : Full Time . Restrictions : Jordanian or have valid work permit/residency. Contract Duration: 2 years . Annual Leave : 24 working days . Closing Date : 23 November 2016. Purpose of job:
to lead and manage assigned projects that focus on using arts for social development and education and building the capacity of the arts sector of Jordan with specific focus on filmmaking, children theatre, and audience development;
to lead on revising, agreeing and implementing the Arts strategy of British Council Jordan for 2017-20;
to pursue and develop partnerships and institutional links opportunities with leading UK and Jordanian arts entities, as well as with EUNIC partners; to support British Council’s work in the area of arts and culture as well as extend its sphere of influence by strengthening its reputation as the partner of choice. Moreover, the post holder is required to assist in income generation through the pursuit if full-cost recovery contracts as well as cost-sharing partnerships in the area of Arts.
University degree or equivalent .
·At least two years of proven project management experience; delivering projects within the creative industries/cultural development sector, of which a minimum of 1 year spent working in an arts or cultural organisation OR on a creative arts project that entailed working directly with local/international arts organisations. ·
At least one year of line-management or team-supervisory experience ·
Proven experience in management of external partners.
