Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates to fill positions for the USAID Health Service Delivery (HSD) Activity in Jordan, a five-year program.

The main objective for the Nutrition Specialist is to assist in the integration of the nutritional component into all HSD activities to improve the overall objectives of reproductive, maternal. newborn and child health services. Following are activities to improve the overall objectives of reproductive, maternal. newborn and child health services. Following are the main functions of this position:
•  Design and manage the nutritional program including all program interventions at different levels.
•  Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of interventions related to nutrition activities for best  nutritional practices.
•  Plan and/or collaborate with all HSD teams and external partners to establish monitoring benchmarks, performance indicators to assess/strengthen performance accountability. coherence and delivery of concrete and sustainable results.
•  Prepare reports to identify gaps, strengths/weaknesses in program and management, identify lessons learned and use knowledge gained for development planning and timely intervention to achieve goals related to the nutrition component of the HSD.
•  Provide technical support in updating the outreach program to cover nutrition topics and assist HSD Specialist in monitoring nutritional interventions of grantees under the grants component as needed.
•  Provide technical support to coaching, on-the job training, and training sessions for stakeholders and counterparts.
•  Ensure proper documentation and data collection through the development of related tools

•  Maintain positive relationship with counterparts
Bachelors Degree in Nutrition or equivalent, Master’s Degree in nutrition or public
health is preferred
10 years’ of experience working in nutrition education/promotion programming in both health care and community settings
Experience working with vulnerable populations in communities is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; complete fluency in written and spoken
Arabic and in written and spoken English.
