Medical Buyer

الوصف ومتطلبات الوظيفة

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Communicates with in-house departments to obtain adequate technical specifications of required items.
  2. Conducts Market research to obtain information, as and when required, about supplies to be purchased and contact suppliers for that purpose.
  3. Prepares tender documents and requests for quotation.
  4. Prepares analysis sheets, evaluates quotations received, and provides comments recommendations to supervisor on the awards to be made.
  5. Prepares contracts recommendations and purchase orders.
  6. Acts as a liaison between suppliers and hospital departments for procurement procedures, order status, and problem resolution.
  7. Prepares samples of medical supplies to be tested together with the related correspondences for the supervisor’s signature.
  8. Clears vendors for contact/visits with in-house departments.
  9. Arranges with other institutions for lending/borrowing of items when conditions dictate.
  10. Assists in maintaining and updating the register of approved suppliers for medical supplies and equipment.
  11. Drafts correspondences related to the assigned functions.
  12. Maintains procurement records in accordance with KHCC policies and audit guidelines.

Education & Professional Experience (Essential Minimum Requirement):

  1. Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or related fields.
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply work preferably in a health care institution.
  3. Good command of oral and written English.
  4. Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure.
