What is required from the ” IT Infrastructure Team Leader” position?

Key Job Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the Infrastructure support team within Group Technical Services
• Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support across geographically diverse offices
• Taking ownership of Incidents and Problems assigned to Infrastructure Support
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ensuring security and confidentiality is maintained at all times
• Taking ownership of issues through to resolution
• Providing timely and professional communication to all levels of the business
• Planning and organizing time of team members effectively
• Fully versed in infrastructure and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Implementation, support and maintenance of VMWare and corresponding products
• SCCM, , Cisco, Checkpoint and other leading vendors
• Working both solo and/or as part of the team, depending on tasks
• Monitors and measures the performance of the network; reports problems to appropriate individuals/teams
• Promote best practices within the team

Daily responsibilities:

• Reviewing Service Desk logs, assigning tasks to team members, chasing on progress
• Ensuring the availability and performance of all Infrastructure services, reporting and proactively monitoring to line management
• Ownership of one (or more), of the following areas: Exchange, Active Directory, Network Infrastructure, Telephony, Backups, AntiVirus, File/Print
• Producing regular written reports
• Ensuring Backups are completed and that all areas of the Infrastructure are captured
• Creation of business cases for new projects and liaising internally to scope, gather requirements and develop project plans
• Responsible for day-to-day system administration, including management of internal network, VPN, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and system backups.
• Configuration, Change, Risk and Major Outage management
• Documentation of all areas of technology, processes and procedures at both high and technical levels
• Technical liaison with 3rd Party support

What do I need to qualify for this position?

• BSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

• 3-5 years’ experience in IT Administration and team leading

• System administration experience for these systems ( Windows Servers, DNS, Office 365, AD, HyperV )

• Wireless solutions, Networking , Firewall, UTM experience

• Hosting and cloud services knowledge.

• Supervise repair and maintenance of all IT gadgets.

• Perform regular IT audit to discover areas of weaknesses and fortify them.

• Review completed tasks to ascertain compliance with standards.

• Web Servers, Hosting , Publishing experience

• Ability to listen to his team members and communicate instructions effectively.

• Ability to lead, direct and control team members.

• Excellent presentation skills.

• Ability to always pay attention to details and encourage team members to do same.

• Ability to take proactive steps in managing problems.

• Ability to effectively handle stress, pressures, and challenges.
• Excellent English language speaking and reading
