POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION
- Position: Social Worker
- Based in: Zarqa with possible visits to the field.

- Under the direct supervision of: Project Officer
- Technical Supervision of : 1 Assistant Social Worker and 7 Community Volunteers
- Works in direct cooperation with: Other Social Workers, the Project Officer, the partner CBO, the psychosocial counsellor and the community health facilitator.
ABOUT PREMIERE URGENCE INTERNATIONALE (PUI)
Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental international aid organization operating in more than 20 countries and relying on more than 30 years of experience in responding to the fundamental needs of crisis affected populations. Present in the Middle East since 1996, PUI conducts multi-sectoral humanitarian and resilience programming in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen. PUI provides relief assistance (health and nutrition, water and sanitation, rehabilitation, food security and non-food item distribution, protection) and supports early recovery.
PUIs actions are guided by principles of humanity, impartiality, independence, accountability, adaptability, transparency, cooperation and partnership, involvement, dialogue, initiative, and trust.
In Jordan, PUI has been responding since 2013 to the needs of most vulnerable populations affected by the Syria crisis in host communities.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer and the line management of the PM, She/he is in charge of ensuring qualitative case management (Education, Protection, and Health for PUI beneficiaries.)
She/he will conduct in-depth interviews with extremely vulnerable families and ensure individual qualitative case management to provide direct assistance or referral to partners as required.
Relying on a team of community volunteers conducting outreach activities to provide health education messages and identify people of concern then referred to him/her internally, the Social worker is responsible to identify the adequate response to the households ‘needs, to establish strong referral pathways and coordination with the partner organizations and to follow-up closely all the cases until the needs are addressed. She/he will act as focal point for information provision to people of concern as to how to access their rights and the services available in the community.
She/he operates in line with PUI code of conduct, internal policies and specific guidelines.
Responsibilities and tasks

Objective 1: To ensure the management of employees under his/her technical responsibility
She/he will provide guidance and overall technical management to the Community volunteers including to facilitate all aspects related to the planning of the outreach activities.
She/he will report to the Project Officer and the Partner’s Program Manager on the Community Volunteers achievements and difficulties
She/he will make sure that Community Volunteers respect guidelines, uses tools and supportive materials designed as required and inform the project officer in case of any problems.
In collaboration with MEAL team and project officers witch are responsible for, they will support the training and capacity building organization of Community volunteers.
In collaboration with PUI Partners and under the supervision of the Project Officer, she/he will ensure the job training of the Assistant.
Objective 2: To ensure qualitative case management, referrals and follow up for vulnerable individuals
She/he will receive extremely vulnerable cases identified by the Community Volunteers, referred by partners or through the Project Officer and will plan the interviews with the families to conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments, determine their needs and barriers in accessing basic services.
Under the supervision of the Project Officer and following PUI guidelines, SOPs and pathways she/he will determine the most appropriate response to the identified needs and take appropriate actions: provision of accurate information on access to services, internal referral to PU-AMI’s activities and/or assistance, external referral to service providers in the community.
She/he will be responsible for referring identified cases to the service providers and will then develop strong relationships with public schools and service providers and organizations, in order to strengthen referral pathways. She/he will liaise directly with the referral agencies in order to ensure time bounded actions.
She/he will be responsible for closely following-up each case until the needs are properly addressed and until a case is closed will be in regular contact with the person of concern.
She/he will ensure beneficiaries’ involvement and decision making in every step taken through the case management and will assess their satisfaction.
She/he will update the referral database on a daily basis to capture all actions taken and all relevant information to the case.
She/he will maintain an up to date knowledge and mapping of the services available in the area, and regularly update the referral tools (memo, 3W matrix, and database) according to accurate information from partners.
She/he will report on all her/his case management activities to the Project Officer.
Should the situation require, (people with mobility constraints, HH supported with cash for education, complex cases…)she/he will conduct in-home visits to proceed with the case management.
Objective 3: To ensure activities are up to case management standard and results are in line with project objectives and outcomes
S/he will ensure disaggregated and cumulative tracking of beneficiaries and documentation of all activities and outcomes.
S/he will maintain program files and documentation as per program management minimum standards, including maintaining the confidentiality and security of beneficiary data.
S/he will ensure programming is on track to meet objectives; reporting regularly on important issues that are cross-cutting

Required Background, knowledge & Skills:
* University degree in Social Science, education or related disciplines.
* Minimum 2 years previous experience in the Humanitarian Sector. An experience in a similar position would be considered a strong asset.
* Experienced in Case management would be an added advantage.
* Fluent in English and Arabic, oral and written.
* Excellent command of Microsoft Office
