Livelihood Project Officer

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Livelihood Officer is responsible to assist Program Manager and other Project Officer, project partners and communities in planning, implementation and monitoring of key project activities in close coordination with different stakeholders and service providers. S/he should lead the project team in innovation and introduction of resilient livelihood strategies. The incumbent should lead to identify the needs and opportunities of livelihood strategies, entrepreneurships and other possible interventions to enhance resilience capacity of poor and vulnerable communities.
Key responsibility:
The Livelihood Officer may be taking other responsibilities of the project upon the need as suggested by the Projects Manager and Regional Director. Emphasis will also be on providing contribution in new Grants acquisition.
Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project activities
Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities related to livelihood
Ensure effective implementation of the planned and approved activities and strategies at the sites on time for the target communities
Assist Project Coordinator, other project staffs and project partners to prepare monitoring plans and regularly monitor and review the technical and financial standards and efficiency of field activities to ensure the activities result into expected outputs.
Mobilization and management of the resources
Assist and join Project Coordinator to manage and mobilize human, financial and material resources of the project and assess the resource needs for the project activities in relation to assigned duties to him/her
Manage and mobilize the available resources within the available limit for maximum results by allocating and distributing them properly across the project activities in line with project document
Coordination and communication
Assist Project Coordinator and project partners to establish close coordination and cooperation with the line agencies and authorities, between local project partners, communities, project beneficiaries and other stakeholders at project level for effective delivery of project activities
Mobilize partner organizations, stakeholders and target communities to fulfil the objectives of the project.
Maintain good relations with project beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders and monitor the agreements reached with them where necessary
Management of the Project Activities
Identify, prioritize and support communities to implement livelihood activities
Coordinate with the field team on accessing needs, implementing activities,
Tracking expenditures for each Project
Coordinate with finance, operations, compliance, procurement, MEAL teams on implementation
Design, develop and provide necessary training for target communities to develop skills and capacities for resilient livelihood strategies and viable options for income.
Prepare periodic, technical reports of the assigned responsibility submit to the Projects Manager and partners
Other responsibilities
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
One to two years of professional experience in relevant field
Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
He/She Jordanian or Syrian National
        Professional work experience on livelihood centered approaches
        Excellent program planning,  implementing, interpersonal and report writing skills
Proficient in the use of computer applications
Ability to work independently, take the initiative and take responsibility
Strong commitment in humanitarian principles
Organization and ability to manage priorities
Proactive approach to making proposals and identifying solutions
Ability to work and manage professionally and maturely
Ability to integrate into the local environment, taking account of its political, economic and historical characteristics
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
University Degree is required.

The environment is fast-paced and dynamic and will require flexibility and a willingness to complete job duties from a remote location in a timely manner when needed.
