The incumbent directly reports to Head, Infrastructure Technical Services Unit, A17, HQ Amman. In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent will:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Implement, operate and maintain UNRWA ICT Security Infrastructure agency wide;
Administer UNRWA ICT Security Infrastructure systems including;
– Enterprise Anti-virus protection solutions on Enterprise Systems Infrastructure;

– Agency-Wide Firewall gateways, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS);

– Enterprise ICT Security Monitoring & Management Systems;

– Enterprise Internet content filtering services;

– Establishing and maintaining an inventory of hardware and software items related to the ICT Security services;

– Plan for and report on projected enterprise infrastructure hardware, software and licenses capacity requirements for ICT Security systems;

Recommend the design and architecture of ICT Security infrastructure platforms in the fields by providing drawings, manuals and instructions on how to design commission and operate such platforms;
Introduce configurations changes to ICT Security systems with minimal disruption to operation including the following:
– Applying relevant service packs;

– Modifying and applying policies;

– Changing Backup & Restore procedures;

– Changing Internet routing group topology;

Research new trends in ICT Security platforms in order to advise on and recommend suitable direction in light of latest developments in the field;
Research new trends in VPN services in order to advise on and recommend suitable direction in light of latest developments in the field;
Provide second level technical support for the enterprise infrastructure team and Field Information Systems staff on issues related to ICT Security Services.

Professional Knowledge and Experience

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, information technology, electrical or computer engineering or other related discipline;
Technical training in Microsoft ISA/Forefront, Cisco Security products (Firewalls, Switches and Access Control), Local Area Networks (LANs);
Technical training and knowledge in Fortinet security products ( UTMs, Firewalls, Managers, Analyzers, Web Filters, Application Controllers, Wireless Controllers and Access Points);
Five years of managing ICT infrastructure operations experience, including three year in configuring and operating Security based solution;
Experience in installing and maintaining secure network communications (VPN), firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems and secure remote authentication solutions;
Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows, Local Area Networks, Internet, CISCO products;
Knowledge and experience in data telecommunications systems security related issues as well as anti-virus, anti-spam and Internet filtering products;
Experience in providing technical support for ICT staff;
Very good command of written and spoken English.

Desirable Qualifications

Technical training in ICT Security products and services, RSA, SANS or similar certification;
Certification in CCNP , CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH);
ITIL knowledge and training;
Knowledge of UNRWA’s operations and computer facilities environment.

Equivalency

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, Field Director for Field Area staff and Director of Human Resources for Headquarters Area staff, in consultation with the concerned supervisor may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.

NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.

Additional Information

The incumbent may be required to travel in Agency’s area of operations;
The incumbent maybe required to work outside normal duty hours, on call basis and on duty shifts as ICT Duty Officer.

Conditions of Service

The fixed term appointment is for 3 years including 1 year probation period. Monthly basic salary JD 927.30 plus special occupation allowance of 27.25% of the basic salary. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
