Job description

Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • Assist the country quality manager in all quality related matters, related to the products, process, audits and customer complains.

Role Description:

  • Performing Statistical trend analysis of product cutting, audit results, non-conformances, customer complaints and other KPIs generating appropriate Corrective/Preventive action plans to focus on core issues, improving product/ process performance, audit results and customer satisfaction.

Operational processes:

  • FSCC – Product quality evaluation – Opening Checklist…etc.
  • Communicate maintenance issues within the restaurants with the maintenance and operations teams and follow up mitigation.
  • Conducting regular Food safety and Quality training to the restaurant staff including food safety awareness sessions, on job training, management team training, new hired and new promoted staff training planned per the APM.
  • Communicating the results of external audits to the Operations team, Sharing Non-conformances that had raised, developing mitigation action plans and follow up their implementation.
  • Conducting quarterly product cutting for KFC products and monthly cutting for Hardee’s products.
  • Reporting Quality and Food Safety monthly KPIs.
  • Conducting Microbiological analysis of products, water, raw ingredients and utility swaps, through scheduling tests, gathering samples, sending them to approved microbiology laboratories, reporting results and take appropriate actions in case any non-conformances.
  • Regular update of Restaurants database.
  • Assuring compliance to regulatory and municipality requirements.
  • Attend external audits and inspections, supporting the logistics team and keep track of any remarks or recommendations, and lead appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Conducting regular Food safety and Quality training to the warehouse staff, ensuring they are aware of the regulatory, quality and food safety standards.
  • Testing incoming shipments, ensuring they are complying with product specifications.
  • Keeping documented track for received materials, reporting any non-conformances, taking appropriate disposition decision (release/reject).
  • Communicating rejected shipments with purchasing department and the insurance company through an appropriate and agreed upon communication system.
  • Conducts periodic audits on stored raw and packaging materials to ensure meeting quality standards and specifications.
  • Keep track of any changes occurs in legislations or brand specification, communicating them to management and operations teams.
  • Adopt the application of Environmental, health and safety within the restaurants.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of HACCP and other certification requirements e.g. ISO 22000, OHSAS 14001…etc.
  • Assuring proper GMP “Good Manufacturing Practices” and Hygiene practices within the Commissary during receiving, storage, production and dispatching, highlighting any practices that potentially pose a risk on products or facility.
  • Verify the testing process of incoming materials, ensuring validity of the laboratory results.
  • Verifying of proper environmental monitoring system in the facility to prevent any risk of provoked contamination.
  • Periodic evaluation of Commissary products.
  • Managing internal Customers “restaurants” complaints and suggestions to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead investigations in any quality and food safety related incidents, reporting root causes and contribute with the commissary team to implement appropriate mitigation action plans.

  • Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
  • Managing Customer complaints and suggestions to enhance customer satisfaction, through an appropriate and agreed upon communication system.

Academic & trades qualifications:

  • Degree in any Food Technology/ Food Science discipline with minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in quality control / quality assurance in a food manufacturing or food processing industry.

Experience, Skills and abilities:

  • Possess good working knowledge and experience in food processing mainly in GMP, HACCP, Quality Systems and processes.
  • Candidate with hands on quality assurance / quality control experience will have an added advantage.
  • Good scientific and analytical skills with minimum supervision.
  • Well organized, proactive, attention to the details and follow through.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills and a good team player.
  • Service oriented and good communication skills.
  • Ability and interest to streamline work and improve customer experience.
