6We’re expanding our operations in Amman and have a number of exciting editorial opportunities with the BBC Arabic Service.
BBC Arabic is the BBC’s largest language service, providing compelling news, current affairs, and programs on Radio, TV, and Digital to Arabic speaking audiences in the Middle East and across the world, twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week.
BBC Arabic aims to deliver the most distinctive, trustworthy and challenging journalism in Arabic in the world. It aims to better reach and serve its Arabic speaking audiences – particularly women and young people – and to explain the world and their place in it. To achieve this ambition, BBC Arabic aims to get closer to its audience in the region. This strategy began by establishing a number of bureaux in the region such as Cairo, Beirut, Tunis and now in Amman where its flagship radio programs will be produced later this year.
We are recruiting Journalists, Senior Journalists and Radio Presenters to join our team on fixed term contracts for 12 months. You will be part of the exciting launch of the brand new state of the art bureau.
What we’re looking for
Successful candidates will be fluent Arabic and English speakers, with experience in broadcast journalistic roles. Extensive knowledge of radio, digital and interactive journalism is essential. You will have first-class knowledge of news and current affairs in the region and internationally.
We are offering a competitive package combined with world-class journalism training.
