The Role: A great opportunity to join a well-established boutique children’s book publishing house that specializes in original Arabic children and young adult books. The role will require understanding the value of Al Salwa’s publications and actively seeking new business accounts. This will involve personal sales visits, phone calling, sending emails as well as preparing presentations.
The Right Candidate: An honest, presentable and personable person, who is confident in their knowledgeable of Al Salwa’s publications and genuinely promotes them to new customers. Self-motivated, confident and hard-working with strong organizational and time management skills.
Understand Al Salwa’s processes and publications
Actively seek new business accounts and identify market opportunities
Manage a database of existing customer accounts and increase sales activity through new product listings
Follow Al Salwa’s CRM procedures and recommend improvement where possible
Analyse sales performance and trends and provide sales analysis and forecasts to management
Obtain market intelligence relating to customer activity, market development
Keep abreast of developments in the publishing sector and Al Salwa’s publications within the market. Understand the value of our publications and highlight areas of opportunity
Recommend and prepare marketing material and activity in line with customer account objectives
Prepare and deliver sales and marketing presentations
Identify, plan and participate in both national and international book exhibitions
Confidently and enthusiastically represent Al Salwa Publishers and promote an attitude of success
Drive a Continuous Improvement culture, promoting and implementing ideas that might improve quality, efficiency and profitability of the business
Fluency in verbal and written English is a must.
Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook would be an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a creative and open-minded approach to work.
A high level of attention to detail and self-motivation.
Willingness to learn about the publishing industry sales needs and utilise new technologies.
Ability to work well within a team.
Ability to manage a busy workload and work to strict schedules.
