Benefits
Grade 02, Monthly Salary JD 418.90 Fills plus JD 07.00 as manual workers allowance. Other benefits include Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency) and medical insurance. Dependency benefits are subject to eligibility. Subject to meeting established additional requirements and specific performance conditions, appointed staff may be promoted to grade 03 after two years.

Place in the Organisation
Under the direct supervision of the Security Shift Supervisor and overall direction of the Head Guard/ Safety and Security Officer (SSO).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
· Performs the following in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
(A)     Screens all vehicles entering and exiting the premises;
(B)         Screens all pedestrians entering and exiting the premises; provides information, issues identification cards and directions to visitors;
(C)          Checks, reports and prevents weapons and or armed actors wishing from entering the  UNRWA premises;
(D)           Maintains paper and computer log books, completes shift reports, incident reports and records;
·  Conducts foot-patrols for the purpose of identifying potential malfunction of physical security measures and intercepting unauthorized persons attempting to enter the premises; as well as potential security threats to the area of coverage;
·  Reports urgent issues to the his/her supervisor and documents all non urgent findings in the shift report;
·  Identifies individuals who remove UNRWA property to ensure that they have property removal permission (i.e. Load Note) and reports violators immediately;
·  Properly responds to medical incidents with First Aid;
·  Assists in facility evacuation drills, fire drills, emergency/incident response drills, mass casualty drills and readiness drills with local first responders; responds to fires in an appropriate manner; reports fire and safety violations/hazards to his/her supervisor, works and cooperates with assigned fire/floor wardens;
·  Correctly uses security equipment such as computers (Basic computer skills), x-ray machines (walk through and baggage screening equipment), CCTV, communications equipment, etc;
·  Maintains alertness for any potential or actual breaches of security, disturbances or unusual activity and reports these to his/her supervisor;
·  Performs such other duties as may be assigned by her/his supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Academic and Professional qualifications
·         Successful completion of preparatory education;
Experience
·         At least one year of relevant experience of security guard’s duties  in a recognized local business, governmental facility and/or international organization;
Language
·          Working knowledge of English and fluency in Arabic.

   Other Information:
·         The incumbent must be mentally and physically fit;
·         The incumbent must have a clean criminal record;
·         All duties are performed in uniform, however at times the incumbent may be required to perform duties in civilian clothes;
·         Duties may require longer periods of standing;
·         The incumbent is required to perform night-shift duty equal to morning shift duties and alternate accordingly.
·         In order to facilitate continuous operations during crises, priority will be given to candidates who live close to the Duty Station.
·        Only candidates residing in Jordan with authorization to work in that duty station at the time of application are eligible to apply. The Agency will not assume responsibility or accountability to support or facilitate the issuance of work permit in the duty station, and without a valid work permit, the appointment may be rescinded since the agency will not provide coverage for relocation costs. Since this vacancy is an Area staff post, the Agency will not provide coverage for relocation costs.
