Place in the Organisation
The incumbent of this post reports administratively and technically to the Senior Verification Officer
(ML6).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
 Performs internal operational verification and control checks of the Field operations to assess
compliance with the programme procedures; drafts verification and control reports
recommending improvements towards increased efficiency in utilization of the Microfinance
Department (MD) resources to meet the Field programme objectives;
 Is responsible for internal financial verification to assess the correctness of the MD assets and liabilities
and drafts reports thereon including revenues and expenditures, bank reconciliation, examining
accounts records, petty cash and cashiering operations, loan loss provisions and write-offs;
 Assists in reviewing and evaluating the adequacy of the internal control systems and makes
recommendations for their improvements including control systems related to loans, transfers,
computer systems, fixed assets and interest rate setting;
 Is responsible for formulating business processes and making diagnosis identifying redundancies
and inefficiencies in credit operations; recommends to Senior Verification Officer credit operation
procedures, credit manuals and training material on the basis of such diagnosis to improve
efficiency;
 In consultation with the Senior Verification Officer, prepares an annual verification and control plan
for the Field; participates in the development of the Department’s medium and long-term goals
and objectives as related to annual audit and work plans
 Verifies compliance to MD instructions, procedures and manuals and makes recommendations for
improvements;
 Conducts periodic and sample reviews of credit agents’ caseloads in respective Field to ensure
that they are in compliance with the Department’s procedures;
 Performs such other duties as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 A university degree in accountancy, business administration or related discipline.
 Six years’ experience in the application of knowledge acquired in 8(A) above, in internal control
with a governmental, international, commercial, bank or microfinance organization.
Language
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
Competencies
 Proven record of writing, analytical and research skills;
 Excellent ability in utilizing computer software;
 Ability to write coherently, concisely and accurately;
 Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures pertaining to microfinance institutions;
 Knowledge of credit operations procedures, rules and regulations.

Desirable Qualifications:
 Post graduate degree in accounts, finance or business administration;
 Experience of internal or external audits of microfinance institutions, credit unions or banks;
 Membership in a professional management, accountancy or audit association.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
 The incumbent is required to conduct internal verifications of all field branches;
 The incumbent will be expected to travel on duty to any field of operations when requested and
as outlined in the annual verification plan;
 Possession of a valid driving license;
 The incumbent should have the willingness to work after normal duty hours and official holidays.
Other Information
 Only candidates residing in Jordan with authorization to work in that duty station at
the time of application are eligible to apply. The Agency will not assume responsibility
or accountability to support or facilitate the issuance of work permit in the duty
station, and without a valid work permit, the appointment may be rescinded since
the agency will not provide coverage for relocation costs.

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources, in
consultation with the Director, Microfinance Department may exceptionally substitute part of the
unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional
professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not
considered an acceptable combination.
