The main responsibilities include:
 Checking accuracy of financial information and reporting discrepancies; preparing
financial reports and documents as may be required and calculating, checking,
reconciling and analyzing financial and related data;
 Documenting, classifying and recording transactions and providing financial and
budgetary information as required;
 Establishing and verifying soft and hard commitments and raising adjustments as
necessary;
 Entering and/or supervising data entry in the Finance Management System;
 Where required, assisting in controlling the budget ceilings and raising necessary budget
adjustments;
 Entering, verifying and retrieving budgetary data in the budget module and supporting
Administrative Officers in adding Budget Estimate Sheets (BESs) into budget module
and providing them with necessary support;
 Maintaining files and registering and drafting routine correspondence on financial
matters as necessary.
Conditions of service
Monthly basic salary JD 668.30. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund
contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30
days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
To qualify for this position, you will need:
Education Two years diploma in accountancy, finance or related discipline.
Work experience Five years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and financial
matters.
Language(s) Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.
Desirable Qualifications
 A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Accountancy or
Business Administration;
 Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) proficiency at foundation level or any
other professional qualification;
 Working experience with UNRWA Financial Management System (FMS) or other
computerized finance system.
You will also need to demonstrate the following competencies:
UN Core Values of Professionalism, Integrity and Respect for Diversity and Core
Competencies of Communication, Working with People and Drive for Results apply by
default
 Proficiency in standard Agency computer applications;
 Ability to maintain effective relationships with all concerned;
 Ability to cope with multiple tasks effectively;
