The Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is a strategic enabler of
UNRWA’s programmes in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and Gaza. With over 35,000 staff
members serving over 5 million Palestine refugees, the Agency’s programmes deliver direct
services to the refugees in the areas of education, health, relief and social service,
infrastructure and camp improvement, and microfinance services. IMTD is always at the
forefront when it comes to introducing innovative business solutions that impact the
organization’s overall value chain even as it embarks towards a future ready state that is
defined by the SMART Enterprise Strategic Framework.

you will be responsible to the assigned supervisor in the Business Engagement Division (BED).
The main responsibilities include:
 Assisting the Business Service Management Officers in systems analysis for the design,
implementation, customization and maintenance of the Agency software applications;
 Preparing extensive documentation to capture user requirements and detailed system
and programme specifications;
 Proactively communicating with business counterparts to ensure that detailed system and
programme specification documents are captured and documented comprehensively;
 Providing end-user support, including maintenance tasks for application(s) to which
assigned;
 Assisting in preparation of instruction manuals and other documentation for the systems
and application(s) to which assigned;
 Assisting in developing training material and conducting training of trainers for associated
trainers working with users of applications to which assigned.
To qualify for this position, you will need:
Education University degree from an accredited educational institution in
information technology, information management, computer science,
business administration, or other related discipline;
Formal training in business analysis, and/or software development;
Work
experience
At least four years of relevant experience in the area of information
systems and software applications development and implementation,
data analysis and reporting; knowledge of relational databases and
SQL server, MS Office, MS Project or similar tools;
Language(s) Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Desirable qualifications:
 Project Management Certification (PMP or Prince2);
 Report writing and knowledge of reporting tools (PowerBI, Crystal Reports, SQL
Reporting Services, etc.);
 Knowledge or experience of HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, object-oriented analysis and design;
 Knowledge or experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-design or
similar tools;
 Knowledge or experience in Office 365 and/or SharePoint Online;
 Experience in implementing IT solutions in humanitarian and development contexts, or in
areas of accounting, financial management, supply chain management, payroll and
human resources management, population registration, education, health, relief, social
services, administrative support.
Equivalency
When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources may
exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant
academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work
experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not
considered an acceptable combination.

Additional information
 The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency’s area of operations.
Conditions of service
Monthly basic salary JD 919.80 plus special occupation allowance of 17.83% % of the
basic salary. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary
paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency
allowance (if applicable).
