We are looking for an Environmental and Social Officer (E&S), who supports developing environmental and social policies and procedures and analyzing proposed actions to be socially and environmentally sustainable and comply with internationally recognized best practices. Support in defining the ES strategy, and work on implementing and reporting on the ES strategy.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into national and international standard formats.
- Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
- Follow the bank’s Environmental and Social policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate risks, and to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
- Carry out and evaluate a wide range of compliance monitoring activities and give basic advice on compliance and regulatory requirements, such as site visits and collection of necessary E&S documentation.
- Contribute to the delivery of projects, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality ESG parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology.
- Create a local document management system for an office or department and ensure that all investment decisions are supported by appropriate due diligence documentation.
- Monitor and analyze data using budgeting systems and protocols.
- Contribute to the preparation of the sustainability report in line with the national & international standard sitters (GRI, SASB, and SDGs).
Experience, skills, and personal characteristics that we are looking for:
- BA in Business, Public Administration or Sustainable or Green Business Management
- 2- 4 Years of related Experience preferably.
- Public speaking and presenting
- Project design
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Analytical thinking
