The Information Management Department (IMD) is a strategic enabler of UNRWA’s

The main responsibilities include:

 Performing business and systems analysis tasks as assigned by the supervisor for the

design, implementation, customization and maintenance of Agency software applications,

including the SAP platform;

 Assisting in collecting and documenting user requirements and preparation of system

and programme specifications;

 Performing development and maintenance tasks on applications to which assigned,

including SAP and other Agency platforms;

 Assisting in proposals’ preparation for new, or changing to existing systems and

applications;

 Assisting in preparation of instructions manuals and other documentation for the systems

and applications to which assigned;

 Assisting in developing training material and conducting training for users of the

applications;

 Preparing weekly reports on response/completion status of assignments for Management

decisions.

Additional information

The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency’s area of operations.

Conditions of service

Option One: Fixed Term Appointment, Grade 14

Monthly basic salary JD 849.80 plus special occupation allowance of 17.83% of the

basic salary. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic

salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and

dependency allowance (if applicable).

Option Two: Limited Duration Contract (LDC- Band F)

Monthly basic salary JD 977.20 depending on the professional knowledge and experience.

Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pre-rated to the

duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable).

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer

science, business administration with a major in or focus on information

technology, or other related discipline; and Formal training in systems

development tools and techniques;

Work

experience

Four years of relevant experience in the area of software applications

development and implementation, one year of which must be in SAP-ABAP

programming language or web applications development using ASP.Net

and MS SQL Server;

Experience in one or more of the information system applications of

interest to UNRWA, specifically, in the areas of accounting and financial

management, supply chain management, payroll and human resources

management, population registration, education, health, relief, social

services, administrative support and other general areas;

Language(s) Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Desirable qualifications

 Experience in implementing multi-user systems;

 Experience of application design and development in client-server environment on MS

Windows platform;

 Experience or knowledge of applications development using MS-Access and development

of reports using Crystal Reports;

 Experience or knowledge of HTML, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, object-oriented analysis and

design;

 Experience in mobile application development.

you will be responsible to the Human Resources Officer (Recruitment) and work closely with

a dynamic team in the Recruitment Section.

The main responsibilities include:

 Participating in the administration of day-to-day operation of HQ Amman recruitment

services and activities:

 Reviewing HQ Amman vacancy advertisements (VAs) to ensure compliance with the

approved post descriptions;

 In coordination with the hiring offices, preparing technical tests and monitoring the

screening of applications against established criteria, raising discrepancies with the

concerned department and advising the supervisor/s accordingly;

 Preparing and overseeing the administrative and logistical arrangements for interviews;

participating and representing the Recruitment Section (RS) in interview panels for

international and/or area recruitments and completing interview reports accordingly;

 In coordination with the supervisor, initiating contacts with job applicants and providing

support and information to internal and external candidates on matters related to the

recruitment process and employment with the Agency;

 Coordinating proposals and approvals for the assignment of daily-paid.

 Advising the supervisor and Head Recruitment Section on recruitment issues and

bottlenecks and identifying mitigating tools accordingly;

 Assisting in the development of HQ Amman annual recruitment plan contributing to the

refinement of recruitment guidelines and selection procedures and ensuring that

recruitments are carried out in accordance with the overall recruitment plan and established

 Assisting the supervisor in producing periodic or other statistical reports on recruitment
