Social Worker
Location: Jordan- Zarqa with travel to the fields as required
Duty Station: 4 months
ActionAid is an international organisation, working with over 25 million people in more than 40 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid started working in Jordan- Amman since 2006. Since then, it has been focusing the work to end poverty and promote sustainable development in areas across Jordan.
ActionAid- ARI is seeking a Social worker to conduct outreach and case referral work in Zarqa for ActionAid- Arab Regional Initiative’s Resilience Program.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Relevant academic degree, preferably Bachelors in social work, counseling, psychology or any related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in similar position preferably with NGOs.
- Have grounded understanding of the refugee crisis in the region.
- Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the protection team to understand the planned and running activities, in order to have focused insight of the targeted population and to plan the outreach accordingly
- Set clear intervention plan for the identified cases based on the assessment and respecting the informed consent of the beneficiaries
- Prepare and submit monthly reports
- Represent ActionAid and program partners in meetings with local Government agencies and local stakeholders (as appropriate and agreed with management)
- Ensure effective coordination with other agencies working in the program location
- Document cases and referral in confidential professional manners
- Provide required information to communication and other units of AA ARI as mutually agreed in advance
- Mobilize women circles and volunteers to establish internal referral system.
- Work closely with information system volunteers and communication officer to improve information dissemination process through the established information system and provide accurate information for callers
